Helping people continue living the lives they enjoy, in the homes and communities they love.

Harris James

Most people don't want care. They want life to continue on their terms.

Life isn't simply about staying at home. It's about continuing to do the things you love, make your own choices, enjoy meaningful relationships and have something to look forward to.

At Harris James, we help you protect that freedom, regain it when circumstances change and enjoy it for as long as possible.

And when care is needed, we're here for that too.

Our difference

There's staying at home. And there's living your life.

Being able to remain in your own home matters. But we believe independence should mean much more.

It's going out because you want to. Seeing people because you enjoy their company. Making decisions about your future. Having the confidence to keep doing the things that make life yours.

Sometimes that means helping you maintain what you already have. Sometimes it means rebuilding something you've lost.

And sometimes our greatest achievement is helping you no longer need us.

Because the goal isn't more support. It's more life.

Why Harris James

We've spent 25 years seeing what happens when life changes. And asking why we so often wait until it does.

Our experience spans direct care, commissioning, quality improvement, leadership and helping families navigate difficult decisions.

We've seen how valuable exceptional care can be. But we've also seen how often people only receive support once something has gone wrong.

That experience led us to create Harris James differently. Not simply to provide care when independence has been lost, but to help people maintain it, regain it and enjoy it.

We bring together different expertise because life doesn't fit neatly into one profession or one service.

Our care services have roots going back to 2018, with 25 years of experience brought by our current owner-director.

Our approach

We start with your life. Not our services.

The first question isn't what support you need. It's what life you want to continue living.

  1. 01

    Understand

What matters to you, what you enjoy and what you want life to look like.

  2. 02

    Explore

What might help you maintain confidence, capability, choice and independence.

  3. 03

    Make it happen

Whether that means future planning, coaching, meaningful experiences, practical support or professional care.

Sometimes the right answer is to do something now. Sometimes it's simply knowing we're here when you need us.

Enjoying Life

Places, people and experiences still worth looking forward to.

Real Story · Active

What if needing less help was the outcome?

Richard's world had become smaller. Leaving his first-floor flat and enjoying life outside it had become difficult.

Through Harris James Active, he began rebuilding confidence and physical capability.

He returned to walking outdoors, spending time in the garden and looking forward to experiences beyond home.

For us, that's what independence is about.

Begin

What life do you want to continue living?

You don't need to know what support you need, or whether you need any at all.

Perhaps you're planning ahead. Perhaps something has changed. Or perhaps there's simply more you'd like to do.

It all starts with a conversation.
